The GeForce RTX 2080 is a High-End Graphics Card based on the Turing Architecture. This card has also been rumoured to be called the GeForce GTX 2080 or the GeForce GTX 1180.


Architecture
It equips a Turing GPU Codenamed GT104 which is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 20 SM activated, offering 2944 Shader Processing Units, 184 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. It also has 368 Tensor Cores for AI purposes.

Memory

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 215W, it requires at least a 650W PSU with available 8-pin + 6-pin power connector.

Ugh…actual differences might be more significant, but site specs are saying RTX 2080 is only outperforming GTX 1070 by 30-35%…that's ridiculous. From the 970 to a 1070 was almost a 50% increase. For the 2080 to only hit 35% better than a 1070 when it's a step up (70 to 80) is nonsense….Seems like Nvidia are REALLY just throwing all they have into RayTracing and hoping it works out….frankly, they can keep it for this gen….

what i essentially love about new GPUs is they leave or decrease its power consumption. guess i'll never have to use more than 550w PSU i have right now. just a pure power for the money
