AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This computer hardware provides top end graphics. The Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire will easily meet recommended system requirements of games released today. This is a strong benchmarker on modern games and can often return excellent frame rates at high and ultra 1080p. But the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire can also run 1440p pc system requirements.

Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

Lets look at the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2022. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 993 games in the list.

The 1080p FPS on Ultra for the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire shows us that Back 4 Blood is getting a good result of 79 FPS, and then we are seeing Dying Light 2 predicted to return a good 64 FPS while another game on our list is the Far Cry 6 which is getting 59 frames per second at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we researched Dying Light 2 on the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire and predict it will get a reasonable set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra predictions at 1440p - L: 129FPS, M: 102FPS, H: 68FPS, U: 49FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Far Cry 6 which seemed reasonable in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 45 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Back 4 Blood where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were good at 60 FPS. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire we get the impression that it is a good choice for running modern games at Ultra in this larger screen resolution.

How many years will the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire in your PC? This gpu has around 2+ years of running AAA recommended system requirements before any upgrades should be considered.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire.

Radeon RX 580 4GB Crossfire Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
First off we should point out that this is not the new AMD Vega graphics card line. The new AMD Radeon RX 500 series are an uprated version of the RX 400 series that they are replacing. This RX 580 4GB graphics card is one of the two more powerful models from the new AMD Radeon RX 500 Series.

This RX 580 is the 4GB version and there is also the RX580 8GB version available, offering more VRAM for your gaming performance.

Architecture
It equips a GPU codenamed Polaris 20 XTX, which has 2304 shader processing units, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

GPU
The RX 580 4GB central processing unit runs at 1257MHz and goes up to 1365MHz when in boost and turbo mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock operates at 2000MHz.

Power Consumption
The RX 580 4GB has a power TDP requirement of 150W. This means it will require at least a 500W PSU with one dedicated 8-pin connector.

Performance
Early benchmarks indicate that the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB will be similar in performance to the Nvidia GTX 1060 in terms of gaming performance. This puts the RX 580 4GB about 8% faster than the model it replaced, the AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB. Comparing the RX 580 to RX 570 we see 1440p frame rates around 8-15% better with the RX580 version

System Suggestions
The new Radeon RX 580 4GB releases on the 18th April 2017 and is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440. We recommend a high-end processor, like the new Ryzen R5 and at least 8GB of RAM for optimal gaming performance.
