15 Sep 2020 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 2050 GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 2050 graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 2050 in your PC? Its upgrade time for the GeForce GTX 2050, assuming you are a modern day gamer.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 2050? If you are thinking of upgrading this graphics card then we would currently suggest the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB. This PC hardware upgrade performs 89% better and can run 832 of today’s 1000 most demanding PC games. Alternatively we would suggest getting a R-500 Series Radeon RX 580 8GB, as it can run 768 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 54% increased graphics performance.

GeForce GTX 2050 Game Requirement Analysis

Overview

The GeForce GTX 2050 is an expect Nvidia low-end graphics card due to launch in 2019. The GTX 2050 is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 550 and the RX 560, and expected to replace the outgoing GTX 1050.

Architecture

The Turing Architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Turing Architecture.

GPU

It equips a GPU Codenamed Turing T107-400 which has [TBA] SM activated and thus [TBA] Shader Processing Units, [TBA] TMUs and [TBA] ROPs. The central unit runs at [TBA]MHz and goes up to [TBA]MHz with the Boost Clock.

Memory

The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the memory clock Operates at 3504MHz.

Power Consumption

With a rated board TDP of 75W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance

The GTX 2050 will enable low to mid-level graphics performance on modern AAA 2018 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card will have slightly faster performance than the GTX 1050 Ti.

System Suggestions

The GeForce GTX 2050 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080, so our recommendation would be to use 1600x900 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-7500 and 8GB of RAM for optimal performance.
