How well can the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 run games
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This computer hardware provides top end graphics. The GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 will easily meet recommended system requirements of games released today. This is a strong benchmarker on modern games and can often return excellent frame rates at high and ultra 1080p. But the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 can also run 1440p pc system requirements.

Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2021. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 906.

Now onto the frame rates achieved at 1080p. We are seeing Back 4 Blood getting 75 FPS with the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5, Battlefield 2042 predicted to get 38 FPS and Resident Evil 8 getting 51 frames per second. All run on Ultra at 1920x1080 screen res.

Increasing resolution to 1440p is something a number of PC gamers are doing today. We tested the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 at 1440p with Back 4 Blood, which got a reasonable set of FPS results. These were, Low: 150 FPS, Medium: 118 FPS, High: 80 FPS and Ultra: 57 FPS. We then checked out Battlefield 2042 which we predict would have a set of graphics results as followed, L: 77FPS, M: 60FPS, H: 41FPS, U: 29FPS. And another popular game was Resident Evil 8 that returned L: 102FPS, M: 80FPS, H: 54FPS, U: 39FPS at 1440p. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 we get the impression that it is certainly a good graphics cards for this increased screen resolutions. It can confidentantly get High or Ultra graphics settings across almost all current games at 1440p.

How many years will the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 in your PC? No graphics card upgrade required for 2 to 3 years of meeting top end game system requirements

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5? If you are thinking of upgrading this graphics card then we would currently suggest the RX 6000 Series Radeon RX 6600 XT 12GB. This PC hardware upgrade performs 25% better and can run 991 of today’s 1000 most demanding PC games.

GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 Game Requirement Analysis

Overview GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 is a mid-range GeForce 20 Series graphics card and considered a great price to performance graphics card based on the Turing architecture. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. The GeForce RTX 2060 does support real-time ray-tracing and excels at 1080p screen resolution. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU106 which has 1920 Shader Processing Units, 120 TMUs and 47 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1365 MHz and goes up to 1680 MHz, in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of slower GDDR5 memory compared to the GDDR6 model, running through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1500MHz, or 14GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 150W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with an 8-pin power connector. System Suggestions GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance.
