Gamers upgrading will be considering the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB graphics card as a serious price to performance entry point. This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games.

This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB is at running the more popular games of 2022. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. Of the 1000 most demanding recommended specs found in game requirements today, this gpu is more powerful than the graphics requirement of 805 games in todays list.

A GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB card at 1080p is predicted to see a good frame rate when running Star Citizen on Ultra - 72 FPS. Lets look at the performance its getting on Dying Light 2 which is 45 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Resident Evil 8 performs on this hardware, which gets a reasonable 49 FPS.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Star Citizen and predict it will deliver reasonable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 145 FPS, Medium: 114 FPS, High: 77 FPS and Ultra: 55 FPS. We then checked the performance on Dying Light 2 to see if that runs well. It was playable with a 34 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Gaming at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB is capable of delivering a solid gaming experience across larger screen sized monitors. GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB is a mid-range GeForce 16 Series graphics card and considered a great price to performance 1080p graphics card based on the Turing architecture. This is a dual-slot graphics card with a dual-fan (90mm) Windforce 2X cooling system, 3D Active Fan support, and a protective back plate. This video card has below average overclocking potential. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. Unlike the RTX series, the GTX series does not support real-time ray-tracing. However, a lower quality version of DXR ray-tracing will be enabled in a future software update. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU116, more specifically TU116-400-A1, which has 1536 Shader Processing Units, 96 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and 24 SMs. The central unit runs at 1500 MHz and goes up to 1800 MHz in Boost mode, providing a small 2% overclock versus the reference model. Memory The GPU accesses a 6GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1500MHz, or 12GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 120W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with an 8-pin power connector. System Suggestions GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Gigabyte OC 6GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440, but is ideally suited for 1080p gaming. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance.
