How well can the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB run games
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB graphics card is considered budget with poor modern game performance when playing anything more demanding than indie game requirements.

GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB is capable of DirectX 12 gaming requirements.

How well will the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB run 2021 games? We will take a look at the biggest releases and frames per second analysis on Ultra graphics settings. This graphics hardware can run 308 of the 1000 most demanding PC games played today.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Far Cry 6 and saw it deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 26 FPS, Medium: 21 FPS, High: 14 FPS and Ultra: 10 FPS. We proceeded to look at Dying Light 2 to see how that compared and predict that it will return a weak 12 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Far Cry 6 on the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB to see that it got a weak set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 20FPS, M: 16FPS, H: 11FPS, U: 8FPS. Another popular game to investigate at 1440p with this card was Dying Light 2 which we predicted will be weak in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 9 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Resident Evil 8 where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were weak at 14 FPS. 1440p GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB PC gaming is not powerful enough to deal with the increased resolution.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB in your PC? 12-18 months of top end gaming is still left in this graphics card

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB? If you want an upgrade suggestion for the GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB then a good choice would be RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB as this is better than 625 of the top 1000 most demanding game requirements with 25% better performance as well. Alternatively we would suggest getting a R-500 Series Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB, as it can run 965 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 81% increased graphics performance.

GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
The GeForce GTX 1650 is an Nvidia GeForce low-end graphics card which launched in April 2019. The GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 550 and the RX 560, and replaces the outgoing GTX 1050.
This is a dual-slot graphics card which connects to the rest of the system using a PCIe 3.0 x16 interface. The GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB features a dual 80mm fan cooling solution. This graphics card has below average overclocking potential.
Architecture
The Turing Architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Pascal Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed Turing TU117-400, more specifically a TU117-300-A1, which has 14 SM activated and thus 896 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1485 MHz and goes up to 1665 MHz with the Boost Clock, providing a small 1% overclock versus the reference model.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 2000 MHz (8GHz effective).

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
The GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB will enable low to mid-level graphics performance on modern AAA 2019 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card has slightly faster performance than the GTX 1050 Ti.

System Suggestions
The GeForce GTX 1650 Galax EX 1-Click OC 4GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080, so our recommendation would be to use 19200x1080 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-8400 and 8GB of RAM for optimal performance.
