How well can the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB run games
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB graphics card is considered budget with poor modern game performance when playing anything more demanding than indie game requirements.

GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB is capable of DirectX 12 gaming requirements.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2021. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 311 games in the list.

The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB graphics card is predicted to return a weak performance on Grand Theft Auto VI at 1080p of 14 frames per second at Ultra graphics settings. Another popular title that is good to benchmark graphics cards against is Back 4 Blood which we predict will get reasonable frame rates of 46 FPS. A third game we can look at on Ultra at 1080p is the popular Forza Horizon 5, which is predicted to get 44 FPS under tests.

We move on to 1440p, and predict that Grand Theft Auto VI will deliver weak FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 27 FPS, Medium: 21 FPS, High: 14 FPS and Ultra: 10 FPS. Next we have Back 4 Blood running on GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB which is predicted to get L: 92FPS, M: 72FPS, H: 49FPS, U: 35FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Forza Horizon 5 is predicted to get L: 89FPS, M: 70FPS, H: 47FPS, U: 34FPS at 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB is a reasonable performance fit for this resolution. Some of the more resource intensive games may well need a few graphical tweak to get the most out of the graphics card at this increased resolution.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB in your PC? Our current calculations suggest a graphics card upgrade will be required in around 12-18 months

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB? A good upgrade choice for this graphics card today would be the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB. For comparison of the 1000 most demanding games around today this suggested upgrade is 23% better and can meet 634 of their recommended requirements. Alternatively if you want an upgrade suggestion for the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB then a good choice would be R-500 Series Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB as this is better than 967 of the top 1000 most demanding game requirements with 78% better performance as well.

GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
The GeForce GTX 1650 is an Nvidia GeForce low-end graphics card which launched in April 2019. The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 550 and the RX 560, and replaces the outgoing GTX 1050.
This is a dual-slot graphics card which connects to the rest of the system using a PCIe 3.0 x16 interface. The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB features Windforce 2X cooling system, 90m blade fans, and a protective back plate. This graphics card has good overclocking potential.
Architecture
The Turing Architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Pascal Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed Turing TU117-400, more specifically a TU117-300-A1, which has 14 SM activated and thus 896 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1485 MHz and goes up to 1785 MHz with the Boost Clock, providing a 7% overclock versus the reference model.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 2000 MHz (8GHz effective).

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, this GPU requires at least a 300W Power Supply Unit (PSU). A single 6-pin power connector is required.

Performance
The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB will enable low to mid-level graphics performance on modern AAA 2019 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card has slightly faster performance than the GTX 1050 Ti.

System Suggestions
The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte Windforce OC 4GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080, so our recommendation would be to use 19200x1080 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-8400 and 8GB of RAM for optimal performance.
