Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB graphics card is considered budget with poor modern game performance when playing anything more demanding than indie game requirements.

GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB is capable of DirectX 12 gaming requirements.

Here is a quick game performance synopsis for the AAA games played in 2021. In particular we focus on how well the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB runs at Ultra graphics settings and what frames per second it is getting at 1080p, 1440p and 4K monitor resolutions. 310 games can be played by this graphics card of the 1000 most demanding games being played by PC gamers today.

The 1080p FPS on Ultra for the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB shows us that FIFA 22 is predicted to get a good result of 70 FPS, and then we are seeing Battlefield 2042 predicted to return a weak 13 FPS while another game on our list is the Forza Horizon 5 which is predicted to get 43 frames per second at Ultra 1080p.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Battlefield 2042 and predict it will deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 25 FPS, Medium: 20 FPS, High: 13 FPS and Ultra: 10 FPS. We then checked the performance on Forza Horizon 5 to predict if that will run well. It is predicted to be playable with a 33 FPS at Ultra 1440p. After a look at the popular games running at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB, this is not a bad choice for a larger screen size like this. Some games will struggle though, but with some careful graphic option adjustments in-game you can normally find a suitable visual experience with this GPU at 1440p.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB in your PC? This GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB? GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
The GeForce GTX 1650 is an Nvidia GeForce low-end graphics card which launched in April 2019. The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 550 and the RX 560, and replaces the outgoing GTX 1050.
This is a dual-slot graphics card which connects to the rest of the system using a PCIe 3.0 x16 interface. The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB features Windforce 2X cooling system with alternate spinning fans, 80m blade fans, and a protective back plate. This graphics card has below average overclocking potential.
Architecture
The Turing Architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Pascal Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed Turing TU117-400, more specifically a TU117-300-A1, which has 14 SM activated and thus 896 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1485 MHz and goes up to 1710 MHz with the Boost Clock, providing a small 3% overclock versus the reference model.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 2000 MHz (8GHz effective).

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, this GPU requires at least a 300W Power Supply Unit (PSU). This graphics card is powered entirely by the PCIe 3.0 slot and no dedicated power connector is required.

Performance
The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB will enable low to mid-level graphics performance on modern AAA 2019 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card has slightly faster performance than the GTX 1050 Ti.

System Suggestions
The GeForce GTX 1650 Gigabyte OC 4GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080, so our recommendation would be to use 19200x1080 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-8400 and 8GB of RAM for optimal performance.
