26 Jan 2020 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid to low level graphics card, the Radeon HD 6950 is found in budget machines nowadays, struggling to meet AAA system requirements. Radeon HD 6950 is capable of DirectX 11 gaming requirements.

How many years will the Radeon HD 6950 graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon HD 6950 in your PC? You should definitely consider replacing this Radeon HD 6950 graphics card, if it is still in your gaming PC.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the Radeon HD 6950? Upgrading this graphics card would have us consider the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB which is 246% more powerful. This upgrade choice can also run 879 games from the most demanding games today. Alternatively we would suggest getting a RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB, as it can run 745 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 171% increased graphics performance.

6950 - 7850 = only 4% difference and the 6950 consumes more than the 7850 with 70W so BUY THE 7850 :)

7870 hands down :D the 6950 is a GTX 560 Ti competitor while 7870 competes with GTX 580. Huge performance gap. Plus the 7870 requires less power and OC's better.

I'm looking to get a new card - would you guys say this is better then a gtx560 ti? They're similar in price, can get both for around £150.
edit: My rig currently says I have the gtx560ti because I wanted to see how well I'd run some games. I actually have a 9500 ;)

If the two are the same price, the ATI Radeon HD 6950 barely edges out the NVidia GTX 560 ti. Check the Compare Hardware section above.

I think you will be able to. You might get frame drops to like 30fps on some of those massive graphics intensive maps, but it should run smooth unless there is latency or server lag issues.
