GeForce GTX 590 Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 590 is a dual graphics solution that consists of two GeForce GTX 580.
As usual and a hindrance of dual-GPU graphics cards, the clock frequencies are reduced, when compared to a solution of GeForce GTX 580 in SLI. However, thanks to great driver support, its performance is comparable to the SLI solution. GeForce GTX 590 also consumes less energy.
This GPU is capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings. It needs to be paired with a powerful Quad-Core, such as 2600K. However, performance may hinder at extreme resolutions (2560x1600 or higher) with upcoming extremely demanding games, in 2013 (e.g. Crysis 3).
Upgrading from this GPU to anything less than a solution of GeForce GTX 690 SLI or something similar fast is useless and not worth it.

Repost:
Im planning to upgrade my rig one day
8gb RAM or 6gb RAM
And can you guys suggest a graphics card that can play smoothly on high settings?
a medium price. whether nvidia or radeon.
What about the GTX 570 or 580?
Or does it includes to upgrade my processor to i7? cause, i want to play smooth on high settings
or i'll just upgrade my procs to i7 first? and use my current graphics first.

the gtx 590 is an overkill to a rig, unless u r using a really expensive, really high end cpu. Otherwise, u r just going to bottleneck it… good choice would be an i7 2700k or a new six-core. It is up to u…

dont even try upgrading with a mac, you need a special cards for them and even then there not sure to work, you will have too look for specific cards that work with them(i believe its the HD 57xx+58xx series cards taht work with mac)

i dont think its drivers related( although gaming on a mac is crap because almost every game isnt supporting it) but its more the hardware mac implants do not function well with cards and then the mac wont work and you will have to do a hackintosh and who wants that stuff?>?

first of all , welcome buddy:)
sedcondly, the level of performance in a card is measured by alot of things, ther's the amount of VRAM,transfer rate, kind of memory, shader clock, memory clock core clock size of the chip and also the way teh company builds it . 1 thing you should never judge a card by is the amount of vram. alot of companys trick you into buying low end cards with a high capacity of memory for an high price tag because you believe that the fact this card has 2 GIGS makes this card superior to a card with 1 gig/512MB which is incorrect.

Also remember that core speed is not always a good way to judge performance. Look at the difference here: http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=322&graphics=Radeon HD 5770 1024MB and http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=462&graphics=GeForce GTX 570. So you see the 570 with lower core is actually a better card than the 5770 with a higher core speed.

The most important thing when comparing GPUs in my opinion is the SPU amount. The more SPUs, the more raw calculating power the card has.

you can aslo judge the card by its name, the higher the noumber (not series but the the number after it) also the highest number in the series is usually a dual gpu card (containing two of the strongest cores in that series)

the problem with having much higher Watts psu then what you really need is the PSU doesnt get stressed and when you will need the full power of it will just couldnt handle it anymore. i got the same problem with my 750W PSU with a 400W system(max load)
