How well can the GeForce RTX 3050 run games
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050
10 Aug 2021 - Graphics card reviewed

This computer hardware provides top end graphics. The GeForce RTX 3050 will easily meet recommended system requirements of games released today. This is a strong benchmarker on modern games and can often return excellent frame rates at high and ultra 1080p. But the GeForce RTX 3050 can also run 1440p pc system requirements.

Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

How well will the GeForce RTX 3050 run 2023 games? We will take a look at the biggest releases and frames per second analysis on Ultra graphics settings. The GeForce RTX 3050 can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 963 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

Now onto the frame rates achieved at 1080p. We are seeing Battlefield 2042 getting 44 FPS with the GeForce RTX 3050, Dying Light 2 getting 52 FPS and FIFA 22 getting 127 frames per second. All run on Ultra at 1920x1080 screen res.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Battlefield 2042 on the GeForce RTX 3050 to see that it got a playable set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 89FPS, M: 70FPS, H: 47FPS, U: 34FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Dying Light 2 which seemed playable in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 40 FPS. Finally we then took a look at FIFA 22 where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were strong at 97 FPS. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the GeForce RTX 3050 we get the impression that it is a very good hardware option at these screen sizes. Ultra is easily achieved across almost all games at 1440p and we would suggest an increase of screen size up to 4K for this graphics card.

How many years will the GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce RTX 3050 in your PC? No graphics card upgrade required for 2 to 3 years of meeting top end game system requirements

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce RTX 3050? There are no graphics cards on the current market that would provide a big enough increase in performance to warrant upgrading the GeForce RTX 3050.

GeForce RTX 3050 Game Requirement Analysis

Overview GeForce RTX 3050 is an entry level GeForce 30 Series graphics card and considered a great price to performance graphics card based on the Ampere architecture. Architecture The Ampere architecture represents a process shrink down to 7nm compared to 12nm Turing. The Ampere architecture provides the world's next consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. The GeForce RTX 3050 does support real-time ray-tracing and excels at 1080p screen resolution. GPU It equips an Ampere GPU codenamed GA107 which has 1920 Shader Processing Units, 120 TMUs and 47 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1365 MHz and goes up to 1680 MHz, in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1750MHz, or 14GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 80W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with an 8-pin power connector. System Suggestions GeForce RTX 3050 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance.
