This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q is at running the more popular games of 2023. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. 805 games can be played by this graphics card of the 1000 most demanding games being played by PC gamers today.

The GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q graphics card is returning a reasonable performance on Resident Evil 8 at 1080p of 51 frames per second at Ultra graphics settings. We added Forza Horizon 5 to our tests and saw it was playable with a 39 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And then researched Grand Theft Auto VI leading us to predict 35 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q we get the impression that it is a perfectly suitable selection of hardware for theis larger screen size. If a game at 1440p struggles a bit or experiences a frame drop then you can tweak settings in game to help get it stable. This might mean lowering it to medium or low in some specific options.

Overview The GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q card is a high-end RTX 20 Series graphics card for laptops and considered an enthusiast graphics card based on the Turing GPU architecture. Architecture It equips a Turing GPU Codenamed TU104 which is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 40 SM activated, offering 2560 Shader Processing Units, 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. It also has 320 Tensor Cores for AI purposes. GPU The TU106 GPU used in the GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q is clocked lower than the regular RTX 2070 Super Mobile version, leading to a slight reduction in game performance. The standard model has a base clock speed of 1215 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1440 MHz whereas this 2070 Super Max-Q has a clock speed of 930 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1155 MHz. Memory The GPU accesses an 8GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1750MHz. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 80-90W the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q is not as power hungry as the full fat mobile version but will still reduce battery gameplay hours if pushed to max power capacity. System Suggestions GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q is capable of resolutions all the way up to 4K (3840x2160) but is probably more suited to 1440p displays.
