Radeon HD 4850 Game Requirement Analysis

Radeon HD 4850 is a high-end GFX based on the 55nm, third unified shader architecture, R700.
It's based on the RV770 PRO Core and offers 800 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs a 256-bit memory interface of standard GDDR3. The central unit runs at 625MHz and the memory clock runs at up to 993MHz.
Some of today's modern games should run fluently at high settings but with modest resolutions. DirectX 11 games aren't supported.

Yes it is, even if a HD 4850 can't exploit the totality of the 1 GB VRAM, it is still less bottlenecked by the VRAM than the 512 MB version. But it is GDDR3 memory, not GDDR5.
