How well can the GeForce GT 630M run games
Based on current gaming requirements the GeForce GT 630M is considered one of the weakest cards and wont meet modern AAA game specs.

All games with system requirements of DirectX 11 or lower are met by this card.

This low performing GPU is unable to play any of the most demanding games available today.

How many years will the GeForce GT 630M graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GT 630M in your PC? You should definitely consider replacing this GeForce GT 630M graphics card, if it is still in your gaming PC.

GeForce GT 630M Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GT 630M is a Middle-Class Mobile Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Fermi Architecture.

Architecture
The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm Technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GF108 which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 660MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 33W, it is suited for small laptops.

Performance
GeForce GT 630M is essentially a GeForce GT 540M.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is on average with the older GeForce GT 540M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GT 630M.

Hello Everyone
I'm thinking of buying a laptop,so far i've found two,the specs are
Laptop 1(Lenovo G780)
Intel Corei7-3632QM
Ram:8GB DDR3
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT 630m
Laptop 2:
Intel Core i5 3317U
Ram:4 GB DDR3
GPU: AMD Radeon 8730m
Well as you can see my current rig is a complete poop so i just need your opinion in which one is better and if you have any other better laptop in mind budget:$600

Hello. I have a variant of this card, GT 630M, but when i run a program that shows the specific stats about my GPU, it says that my card has the technology: 40nm
Besides it also says that the architecture is GF108, while none of the GT 630M versions on the website has that architecture. I'd guess that it means my card has a lower performance than the one i actually have selected as my GPU on my profile?

The naming is kinda confusing (eg. GT 630 is just a renamed GT 440) and the name doesn't tell the specification like GDDR3/5. So I assumed GT630M is just the same as GT630 but with lower clock speed to lower heat and stuff.

I see through their plans: confuse the consumers so they can sell new cards with higher number in their names but is actually the same/slower than old released cards =.='
