How well can the GeForce 610M run games
22 May 2020 - Graphics card reviewed

Based on current gaming requirements the GeForce 610M is considered one of the weakest cards and wont meet modern AAA game specs. All games with system requirements of DirectX 11 or lower are met by this card.

How many years will the GeForce 610M graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce 610M in your PC? You should definitely consider replacing this GeForce 610M graphics card, if it is still in your gaming PC.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce 610M? Upgrading this graphics card would have us consider the 20 Series GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile which is 2520% more powerful. This upgrade choice can also run 841 games from the most demanding games today. Alternatively if you want an upgrade suggestion for the GeForce 610M then a good choice would be RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500M 8GB as this is better than 445 of the top 1000 most demanding game requirements with 1965% better performance as well.

GeForce 610M Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce 610M is a entry-level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.

Architecture
The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GF119 which has 1 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 48 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 738MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 20W, it is suited for small laptops.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is on average with GeForce GT 520M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce 610M.
