How well can the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition run games
12 Jan 2020 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 11.

Lets look at the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2020. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. Of the 1000 most demanding recommended specs found in game requirements today, this gpu is more powerful than the graphics requirement of 262 games in todays list.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Halo: Reach and saw it deliver strong frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 257 FPS, Medium: 203 FPS, High: 137 FPS and Ultra: 98 FPS. We proceeded to look at Fortnite: Chapter 2 to see how that compared and saw that it returned a good 78 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Halo: Reach on the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition to see that it got a good set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 196FPS, M: 155FPS, H: 104FPS, U: 74FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Fortnite: Chapter 2 which seemed reasonable in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 59 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Grand Theft Auto VI where its predicted Ultra 1440p Frame rates were weak at 0 FPS. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition we get the impression that it is a good choice for running modern games at Ultra in this larger screen resolution.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 590 Zotac Edition in your PC?
