APU A6-5400K Dual-Core Game Requirement Analysis

APU A6-5400K Dual-Core is a performance CPU based on the 32nm, Piledriver architecture.

It offers 2 Physical Cores (2 Logical), initially clocked at 3.6GHz, which may go up to 3.8GHz and 1MB of L2 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Core and Virtualization are activated and the processor has the clock multiplier unlocked, meaning it can be overclocked easily.

The processor integrates weak Graphics called Radeon HD 7540D, with 192 Shader Processing Units, clocked at 760MHz, which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 65W.

It offers average performance. This means it will become a bottleneck in some demanding applications.

(late reply, but) 8 gb is recommended and if you use the apu instead of a graphics card, be sure the ram is clocked at a high frequency

I blew my I5 :/ it says medium to high on Titanfall, is this a good idea for gaming? I won't have dedicated graphics though so will be using the 7540D integrated?

for budget gaming, go for a quad core apu (a8 or a10) and use fast ram.

I'm sorry to say this but please don't spend your money on a cheap PSU as you'll regret it. I know it will cost more but if you save up you can get a good one. I'd recommend to any computer that they have a min of 450w though. For a gaming PC i'd say around 550-700w though.

Damn that is a lot of stuff. If you can link me to all the stuff in the rig's I can have a look at what power you may need. Will there be a dedicated GPU? if you are using just a MOBO, CDROM, HDD, CPU etc then you might get away with a low PSU

Sorry for the late reply. I did a PC power test online roughly and it come to around 194W recommend. The min was around 160W so there is a good chance you could run a pc off a low PSU :D

DON'T as in DO NOT get a cheap PSU. Make sure it's at least decent quality, as a bad PSU could potentially blow up the rig…
