Core i7-4930MX 4-Core 3.0GHz is a high-end mobile processor based on the 22nm, Haswell microarchitecture.
It offers 4 Physical Cores (8 Logical), initially clocked at 3.0GHz, which may go up to 3.9GHz and 8MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, HyperThreading, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated.
The processor integrates powerful Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 4600, with 20 Execution Units, initially clocked at 400MHz and that go up to 1350MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 57W.
It is the second fastest mobile processor as of January 2014. Therefore, it can be paired with even the most powerful dedicated graphics.
what a waste… this is the same thing as 3940xm but has higher TDP!
It's the same in terms of specifications such as Core Speed, die size, etc but it should benefit from micro-architectural improvements such as some I don't yet because there's not enough data to know about the Haswell architecture.
hoping it would be a lot cooler
There are some changes I cant remember them but it was faster cache and other little things, but reality is that AMD is far behind and intel is just releasing small updates of their cpus every year …ups its 1.5 year now and enjoying huge profits :-D
I feel sorry for AMD
I am not, its their own wrong choices mixed with incopetent managment.
As hardware ethusiast i am only little woried about intel slowing their research and release of their new technologies for next year or two. This is year 2006-2009 all over again and AMD cant learn from their mistakes from past

Ordered this CPU to upgrade my lappy from i7-4700MQ as it sometimes bottlenecks my GPUs (980M SLI).
