very nice upgrade from an FX 6350… Huge performance increase in gaming and rendering for a little bit more $$$ than a high end core i5.

You also can save some money on the motherboard, as you're not going to OC, and keep the stock cooler, (temps are surprisingly good with the stock cooler, 60C in GTA V with maxed out settings at 1080p, 66-68C when rendering), so the price of an overclockable i5+mobo+cooler is actually more than the Xeon+mobo combo…

It is a good CPU, but it is marketed as a server CPU. It is basically a locked i7 4 series. Cannot be overclocked, but it has the Multithreading technology. Also, it cost around the same as an i5 CPU. $100 less than a i7 4770 without IGP.

Might run warm because Xeons have higher stock voltages for better long term stability. Though lacking the iGPU makes up for it.

Sadly, the Intel Xeon is very underrated for gaming. This CPU is cheaper than i7-4770, but has the same performance.

Marketing has a lot to do with that, unfortunately. If Intel just went out and said that, there'd be no reason for gamers to get any of the higher-end locked i5s, or even i7s.

Yup. Pricing is not the only difference, it also produces much less heat, because it doesn't have IGP.

And gamers don't need an IGP, because we have discreet graphics. Honestly, the Xeon is pretty damn close to the perfect gaming processor.
