GTX 960 with Phenom II x4 945 is bottleneck, but in some games i have 99% GPU. In TR 2013 on Ultimate with SSAA i have 50% usage on CPU and GPU with 30FPS, also on LOW dont get 60fps lock ( drops to 40 ). is this a bottlenck or ?? 50% usage both and 27-30-40 FPS ??

also, the best performance/cost phenoms in my area, and perhaps yours too, is the 955Black Edition or 965 Black edition, which are a bit stronger, so you should consider them. also, keep in mind you need a new motherboard for these

I'm thinking about getting a budget entry-level desktop for casual gaming.
What do you think about this deal?

My budget is fairly generous, up to $800 for everything including the monitor and Windows. However I'm only going to game occasionally so I'm trying to spend as little as possible and avoid wasting money on high-end parts.

Can I put both the FX-4300 and the 7770 on the motherboard and case I linked to above? I know I will need to upgrade the power supply.
Should I go for the 6/8 core processors if I'm going to use this computer for more than gaming, but not intense rendering/editing?
1600x900 monitor is fine

  1. yes you can use that board but i dont like vrm without heatsink
also i recommend 9-series chipset board for FX cpus because not all older am3+ boards have stable bios update
if you plan crossfire your cards then go for 990FX boards if not you can find good 970 board like mine asus M5A97 evo
    2. that depends how much you are rendering, fx-6300 cost only around 10 euro more so it was clear choice for me -causal gaming and so, but if you are rendering too much, go for 8core
    3. for higher res you will need better card and hd7850/7870 or nvidia 660
