Your forgetting IPC improvements with newer architectures.
The 995 does have a higher frequency but it's like my i7-920, even though it's at 4.3GHz it's still slower than a 4770k @ stock.

The cores of the new g3258 are way faster than this, this thing is almost 10 yeats now.


Clockspeed is irrelevant when comapring different architecture(Haswell VS Netburst).


Even at 1,5GHZ the G3258 beats this :P
