Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core 3.8GHz Game Requirement Analysis

The Ryzen 9 3900X is a top-end CPU based on AMD's 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture. It offers 16 physical cores (32 logical), initially clocked at 3.8GHz, which may go up to 4.6GHz using Precision Boost.

It has an unlocked multiplier, therefore, it can be overclocked using traditional methods. As an AMD 'X' CPU, the Ryzen 9 3900X can use eXtended Frequency Range (XFR) for automated overclocking.

It has 16MB of L3 Cache. Level 3 cache is a static memory bank of a processor and it is used to feed it instructions. This processor also supports DDR4 based RAMs with maximum memory support of 64GB.

It has a maximum Thermal Power Design of 105W. This makes the Ryzen 9 3900X a relatively power-hungry CPU, although this is in-line with the high core count.

Among its many features are Simultaneous Multithreading, Cool n Quiet, CoolCore Technology, Extended Frequency Range (XFR), Pure Power and Precision Boost are enabled.

It features an integrated AMD Radeon Vega GPU with 11 Compute Units that offers low-end graphical performance.

Bought one alongside a ASUS TUF X570. Seems like that the most bang for your buck!

I will be using 2x8GB G.Skill 4266 CL19-19-19-39, so I reckon I can get 3800 (1900) 1:1 with really tight timings. The CPU will be getting a dedicated custom loop.
EK Velocity or HK IV Pro, 2x D5s, MO-RA420LT (9x140mm..).

Will be changing from a 9900K/Z390 Master system. Will be fun to see the difference in games.

Playing at 1440P with a 1080Ti on air until the new gen comes out.

We will try our best, sorry that things have gotten all wonky with our specs on the database but we have a small team with limited hours but we are most likely changing how things in the database are done here shortly.

Hang tight
