I have this processor clocked at 3.2GHz with stable temps, a great overclock even at this day :D Can someone tell me if I would have a bottleneck with Gigabyte 9800 GT OC?(overclocked this one too to 801MHz on core, 1103 MHz on memory and 1962 Mhz on shaders xD)

I have a crappy mobo, what ever HP stuck in their desktop. My question is, is this CPU worth spending some money on to get a better mobo that would allow OCing it? I did a very light search on amazon and top 5 results were around $70-80.

It would also help with my RAM….as the mobo is limiting my DDR3 to 1066….

Well ram speeds do not actually affect gaming performance, but with ram at that speed OCing the c2q 8000 series is easy by raising the FSB and adding abit of voltage.

Yes, I'm aware that in games RAM speeds only increase it by 1 or 2 FPS if that. But I'm not talking about just gaming. Because it can't be all just the CPU difference from my previous desktop to this that is causing such a difference.

divide 3000 on the multiplier of your cpu and put the resulting number in the front side bus
that's how I overclock
don't forget to check for the temperature after a stress test
