I recommend everyone on a budget to get this CPU paired with an H61 motherboard (I like the Msi h61m-p31 G3) and then upgraded with a 1Gb HD6670 DDr3 .The reason I prefer the Intel Budget CPUs is because (1. I don't like Overclocking,it reduce lifespan if not done well)(2. Intel puts more effort on the CPU compaired to AMD who puts allot of effort on the I-GPU) and if upgraded with a D-GPU theI-GPU becomes useless. This CPU is worth the price to performance ! ( I'm not against AMD XD)

Celeron is that kind of low budget CPU that you need when you need to upgrade your pc but dont want to spend a lot of money…. My first CPU was a Celeron too (back to 2004 a Celeron D 320 - 2.40 GHz) … I stayed with him till 2007/08 … But if you dont mind to spend a bit more or if you get lucky, the same price,i recommend a Core 2 Quad, cause even a Core 2 Quad Q6600 is better than this one,and is 5 years and a half old than him!

This this doesn't concern to the topic but… PC,is the right choice over a console… Cause i had a ps2 and over 5years the console stopped to read dvds… i tried to fix it but was more difficult to,and even if i succeed (cause i have the console yet) the component parts will be more difficult to find in the next years, same lens models, etc. And PC's,components never end and you can personalize, and even play some console "only" games! xD

True in a way but with modern consoles, you can replace most parts (won't be cheap, though) :)

(I know its an old post but i wanted to comment since im considering getting this or a pentium G860..) I agree with TeroMarsu.. it is possible to change almost all parts (even the cpu in an xbox 360s) but they are very expensive and difficult to do.. i had to fix (not replace) my 360s dvd drive and it took me half an hour just to get at it :( shame sony and microsoft don't want any tampering to be done with their consoles…
