try to roleback the bios to the original ,and make sure u have the core unlocker actived for all cores in the bios , if still just showing 3 cores in task manager probably is some error from windows try to reinstall it.
because if the bios detect all six cores and successful actived all cores every time u turn on your pc ,the problem just can be from the windows

It's not all about core, 6100 is not a true six core while i3-3220 is a true dual core with hyperthreading. i3 is much more efficient, and wins in many benchmarks.

yes, It's a bit of a hybrid. It is technically more of a six core than a tri core with HT, but i believe in games the fx6100 will win any i3 and many i5

it's about optimization much and Intel wins in single-core performance undoubtedly, also most games use only 2 cores and therefore both cpus are quite comparable…

yes i agree INTEL is better than AMD ,like nvidia is better than ati,but i dont believe u can play for example crysis 3 all max out with a dual core even if u have graphical capabilities for that , some games require more than 2 cores or threads and a hexa core yet poorly optimized ,i think will be more capable than a dual core ,at least technically

I've got lappy (I can't ugrade my gfx), and I think it is quite balanced, also because cooling doesn't allow full use of all 8 cores at 3.2GHz (in AC3 reaches 90°C !)
(maybe with ice cooling yes, I haven't tried=Đ

You need more RAM before you play anything on high settings bro. And you're using DDR2 like me, so more RAM means a new motherboard unless you plan on spending 200$ on 4GB of DDR2. So yeah, new mobo, and 8GB of RAM (cause DDR3 is so dang cheap these days). THEN you can think about upgrading your GPU and CPU which you do need to don't get me wrong. Once you have more RAM and stuff this CPU is good yeah and the GPU you are looking is nice too. :)

You need a Mobo with socket AM3+ for this CPU, although with a nice Quad Core or fast Dual Core like a core i3 should do it, and yes you need more RAM for your rig to work altogether without any part bottlenecking or being inferior to others.

Everything fits in the case right? The parts you listed should come together nicely, regarding to your original question, this CPU will do fine with the GTX 650, and will be able to run games fairly smooth on High resolution even on 1080p, just don't expect to max them out, let alone Multiplayer maxed in some cases.

If you want max games on 1050 res I just cant recommend 650nvidia, for around 30-40 more dollars you have 1gb version of HD 7850 that is far more better for gaming
-also wait month for new FX-6300 cpus

That one gb of memory can help when you max out AA and AF in games, but on that res 78501gb is still lot faster than 650ti 2gb (not to mention there are 2gb versions of 7850)
