Core i5-2310 2.9GHz is a performance CPU based on the 32nm, Sandy Bridge architecture.


It offers 4 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 2.9GHz, which may go up to 3.2GHz and 6MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated.


The processor integrates weak Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 2000, with 6 Execution Units, initially clocked at 850MHz and that go up to 1100MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 95W.

Your cpu still can handle all games on max settings… I see no need for upgrade…. dont waste money you will see no difference in games with newer cpu-s, save money for future upgrades….

If you're gonna use it for games, i suggest you buy this cpu so that you can save more money and slap in a powerful gfx, perhaps an HD7950 :)

Whatever really that doesn't cost too much. To be honest I don't know alot of i7 processors. 2600k seems to be popular, but is it any good?

But is it worth to update from this to 2600k? Afterall I have't had alot of problems with this, I think it would be better for me to update the GFX and go for this later. Thanks for the replies though, now I know which CPU I'm looking at if I decide to upgrade :)

lol absolutely its not worth if you play games on it, 2600k is great but overpriced like hell
You have HD6770 you need to upgrade that
model situation
I7 with HD6670 -300euro upgrade =10-15% better performance in games
your i5 with lets say HD7950 -300 euro upgrade =100% better performance in games
