Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz is a performance CPU based on the 22nm, Ivy Bridge architecture.
It offers 4 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 3.4GHz, which may go up to 3.8GHz and 6MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated and the processor has multiplier unlocked.
The processor integrates mildly powerful Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 4000, with 16 Execution Units, initially clocked at 650MHz and that go up to 1150MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 77W.
Compared to Core i5-2500K there's an overall 9% performance boost. Its performance is very good and sufficient for extreme gaming.

worth the upgrade?
is this still worth to buy?
still rocking it 5 years later… no problems.
love this chip
this didnt age well
I Run the Fallout 4 witha i5 3570k @4.2 Ghz and a R7 265 @1050Mhz at 900p,with glorious 80 FPS in the medium quality
The R7 265 should be able to do mostly high settings with fallout 4. You should lock your frames at 60fps or 30fps anyway to avoid tearing. It's only placebo. As long as your doing over 30 fps your game will run as smooth as 100fps synced.
This and asus p8z77 m is a good upgrade?
My processor bottlenecks my 970 in some bad optimized games like unity…
If you can get both the cpu and mobo for a reasonable price (secondhand I presume?) you should get it/steal it :-P
This or the fx-8350?
of course i5!
whoa dude, its not that obvious…GD says that FX 8350 is 3% better…now lets see…what do you want from ur cpu:
Good single core performance (with not good multitasking)
vs
very good multitasking (w/ average good single core perf.)?
3% doesnt amount to a whole lot and thats just based off hardware comparison on the page its not real world
Performed awesome so far. Do any games take advantage of six to eight core processors yet?
very few if any even if they did most games arent cpu bound enough to drag down good i5 cpus yet unless its poorly optimized then theres nothing you can do really (im looking at you ubisoft)
I believe planetside 2 uses eight cores but i5s still work wonders on it
Will this CPU run ok on my system for gaming
yup its great
what about upgrading my gt 740 to gtx 980 will it bottleneck or no ?
There is no way the 980 will be bottlenecked by a 3570k
Would it be a good idea to pair this with a GTX 970 EVGA and 8 GB of ram? :D
You might want to go with a stronger processor with that graphics card. The RAM would be fine. :)
Sorry for the late response.
It would be fine for any graphics card out there if it is gaming you're doing, it is a really powerful gaming cpu and you can overclock it for a further performance boost.
You will be fine, if you want to match this one with GeForce GTX 980.
This CPU is really good. :)
i have a similar cpu to this and a 970 with 16gb of ram trust me this processor is just fine for games
