How To Identify Your Motherboard

The motherboard is the large board which all components in your computer are slotteed or plugged in to. All data passes through this network. Be aware that like most items of hardware it has multiple names, like Mainboard or Mobo.

To help us here we will need to run the free and simple to use CPU-Z program. This is the same program used to identify your CPU details here. If you don't have CPU-Z installed yet then grab the tiny file from our Tools page.

Ok letís run cpuz.exe and take a look at the Motherboard. Once CPU-Z is open navigate to the Mainboard tab.
