Gears of War 3 will feature four-player co-op for the first time in the series. Fully controllable mech suit, called silverbacks, will be available for use in certain parts of the game, armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher. They have two operating modes, in assault mode it is controlled like a standard character, in stationary mode, they lock into position and deploy their armor, as well as cover for other Gears from their legs.

Gears of War 3

Radeon RX 550 2GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 550 2GB Performance Review

Running a Radeon RX 550 2GB to play Gears of War 3 shows us that we expect it to return a consistently high 140 frame rate. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.

Following on from those 1920x1080 screen FPS, we know this GPU is of a much higher performance than the recommended system specs. Even 4K Ultra returns 45 FPS on Gears of War 3. But it’s still worth considering the $1.76 per Ultra 4K FPS you would get compared to the $1.04 at 1440p Ultra.

To summarise, this game runs easily using this graphics card at all resolutions. Gears of War 3 gets 45 FPS at 4K Ultra costing $1.76 per frame. But if that doesnt feel right for you then you can drop the graphics setting down to High for 64 FPS costing $1.23 per frame. Otherwise you can get some great performance by moving down a resolution bracket to 1440p. 76 FPS in Ultra 1440p costing $1.04 per frame or 1440p High gets 107 FPS costing $0.74 per frame.
