Gears of War 3 packshot image
Gears of War 3 will feature four-player co-op for the first time in the series. Fully controllable mech suit, called silverbacks, will be available for use in certain parts of the game, armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher. They have two operating modes, in assault mode it is controlled like a standard character, in stationary mode, they lock into position and deploy their armor, as well as cover for other Gears from their legs.

Gears of War 3

GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5

Low Vs Ultra GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 Performance Review

The experience of playing Gears of War 3 through a 1 year old GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 is going to return a consistently high 140 frame rate. Which is at High settings on 1080p performance.

And so following those results you could of course play this at 1080p, but this GPU is somewhat wasted at that resolution. We would suggest running Gears of War 3 at 4K Ultra instead, where the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 would still get 45 FPS at these performance hungry settings and resolution. When considering the GPUs release price, this comes in at $0 per Ultra 4K FPS or $0 at 1440p Ultra.

To summarise, we are in the realms of who gives a crap, when looking at game hardware demands, because the GeForce RTX 2060 4GB GDDR5 card will play Gears of War 3 at Ultra settings almost regardless of the screen resolutions. 4K Ultra will get 45 frame rate, 1440p can deliver 76 FPS, and the lower resolution of 1080p comes in at 100 frames per second. For interest the cost per frame rate would look like this - 1080p Ultra costs $0, 1440p costs $0 and 4K costs $0.
