Insomnia packshot image
InSomnia is a Dieselpunk RPG that transports you to a retro-futuristic space station on a 400-year journey in search of a new home. Explore the world as a Noman warrior—or hide in the shadows as an outcast. Perhaps you’ll be a charismatic leader—or maybe you’ll become an apex predator with bloodshot eyes and a thrill for the kill. Either way, you will have to muster the strength to survive in order to find out why mankind has embarked on such a risky journey through uncharted space. InSomnia offers an epic, non-linear storyline with many ‘points of no return’ and deep, immersive gameplay. The fate of the space station’s many inhabitants will depend on your choices.

Insomnia

GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Performance Review

Getting the Insomnia running while using a GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB can see it could get a very strong 200+ FPS. Those frames are achieved on Insomnia when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

When looking at the recommended requirements for Insomnia we can see that this GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is far better served running it on Ultra even at 4K, where it would achieve 93FPS. But it could cost around $6.98 per FPS at 4K. Compare this to Ultra 1440p, which is a more reasonable $4.16 per FPS.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB along with the right system memory, 4GB, is very capable of getting top FPS results even at 4K Ultra graphics settings. We would recommend 4K as the way to go here. Especially if you have a Intel Core i7-4790K 4-Core 4.0GHz processor or better.

In summary, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is clearly an overpowered bit of hardware for Insomnia, but it certainly gives you the choice of desired in game visuals. With 1080p Ultra coming in at 200+ FPS, then you have 1440p Ultra with 156 frames per second and on up to 4K resolution Ultra will see 93 FPS.
