InSomnia is a Dieselpunk RPG that transports you to a retro-futuristic space station on a 400-year journey in search of a new home. Explore the world as a Noman warrior—or hide in the shadows as an outcast. Perhaps you’ll be a charismatic leader—or maybe you’ll become an apex predator with bloodshot eyes and a thrill for the kill. Either way, you will have to muster the strength to survive in order to find out why mankind has embarked on such a risky journey through uncharted space. InSomnia offers an epic, non-linear storyline with many ‘points of no return’ and deep, immersive gameplay. The fate of the space station’s many inhabitants will depend on your choices.

Insomnia

Radeon RX 550 2GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 550 2GB Performance Review

Running a Radeon RX 550 2GB to play Insomnia shows us that we expect it to return a consistently high 184 frame rate. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.

Following on from those 1920x1080 screen FPS, we know this GPU is of a much higher performance than the recommended system specs. Even 4K Ultra returns 60 FPS on Insomnia. But it’s still worth considering the $1.32 per Ultra 4K FPS you would get compared to the $0.79 at 1440p Ultra.

This is a powerful graphics card for Insomnia and we can certainly recommend it to deliver 4K screen res at ultra settings. Get a system with at least 4GB of RAM though. The PC’s processor would also want to be around the AMD Ryzen R3 1200X’s performance to get a smooth experience.

To summarise, this game runs easily using this graphics card at all resolutions. Insomnia gets 60 FPS at 4K Ultra costing $1.32 per frame. But if that doesnt feel right for you then you can drop the graphics setting down to High for 84 FPS costing $0.94 per frame. Otherwise you can get some great performance by moving down a resolution bracket to 1440p. 100 FPS in Ultra 1440p costing $0.79 per frame or 1440p High gets 140 FPS costing $0.56 per frame.
