InSomnia is a Dieselpunk RPG that transports you to a retro-futuristic space station on a 400-year journey in search of a new home. Explore the world as a Noman warrior—or hide in the shadows as an outcast. Perhaps you’ll be a charismatic leader—or maybe you’ll become an apex predator with bloodshot eyes and a thrill for the kill. Either way, you will have to muster the strength to survive in order to find out why mankind has embarked on such a risky journey through uncharted space. InSomnia offers an epic, non-linear storyline with many ‘points of no return’ and deep, immersive gameplay. The fate of the space station’s many inhabitants will depend on your choices.

GeForce RTX 2080 Mobile

Low Vs Ultra GeForce RTX 2080 Mobile Performance Review

Booting up Insomnia with the 1 year old GeForce RTX 2080 Mobile looks like it will return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Which is at High settings on 1080p performance.

Following on from those 1920x1080 screen FPS, we know this GPU is of a much higher performance than the recommended system specs. Even 4K Ultra returns 128 FPS on Insomnia. But it’s still worth considering the $0 per Ultra 4K FPS you would get compared to the $0 at 1440p Ultra.

This is a powerful graphics card for Insomnia and we can certainly recommend it to deliver 4K screen res at ultra settings. Get a system with at least 4GB of RAM though.

To summarise, this is an easy one, the GeForce RTX 2080 Mobile solution can play Insomnia at Ultra settings despite the desired screen resolution (up to 4K) you want to play it on. 4K Ultra gets 128 frame rate, whereby we see 200+ frame rate for the 1440p Ultra and if you wish to look at 1080p gaming then 200+ frames per second is the type of results. Using the graphics card launch price we calculate the cost per frame to look like this for the different resolutions - 1080p Ultra costs $0, 1440p costs $0 and 4K costs $0.
