spaceRPG packshot image
spaceRPG is an Action RPG with a focus on destructible and interactive environments. The retro 2D look and simple interface sit atop a deep game full of items and objects to collect and interact with, weapons to fire, NPCs to talk to and enemies to vanquish. NPCs will live their own lives independent of your movements and carry out day to day tasks while the deep story-line progresses. Combat is party based and real-time, but pause-able so commands can be issued to party members for those who enjoy a more sedate experience. The vision for spaceRPG is a universe that feels limitless and alive, where every inch can be explored, beds moved, NPCs interacted with, furniture and walls destroyed in combat, ships flown (indeed!) and as much coolness as we can shoehorn in. To accommodate this rich world we are focusing on immersion and game play rather than looks and effects - plus I come from a gaming era where Countdown to doomsday and Megatraveller were the gold standard for sci-fi RPGs.

Radeon RX 5900

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 5900 Performance Review

The experience of playing spaceRPG through a 1 year old Radeon RX 5900 is going to return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Those frames are achieved on spaceRPG when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

With such a strong 1080p performance the Radeon RX 5900 overshadows the spaceRPG recommended specs. Push things up to Ultra 4K and we still get 200+ frames per sec. Using the graphics card release price, this is a $0 cost per FPS and a $0 per FPS at 1440p Ultra.

Crank things up is what we say. Ultra 4K is our recommended game settings for spaceRPG , as long as you have 2GB of RAM or more. A good processor component to help with these settings would be the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X.

To summarise, we are in the realms of who gives a crap, when looking at game hardware demands, because the Radeon RX 5900 card will play spaceRPG at Ultra settings almost regardless of the screen resolutions. 4K Ultra will get 200+ frame rate, 1440p can deliver 200+ FPS, and the lower resolution of 1080p comes in at 200+ frames per second. For interest the cost per frame rate would look like this - 1080p Ultra costs $0, 1440p costs $0 and 4K costs $0.
