Rayman Origins packshot image
The game features both single player and multiplayer modes, with a support for 4 player drop in/drop out local co-op. Players will control the main hero Rayman, Globox and two teensies. Rayman Origins is a side-scrolling platformer with puzzle solving elements. The objective is to complete the levels and save the Glade of Dreams. Overall, there are over 60 levels in the game, taking place in 12 different environments. The player moves from the left side of the screen to the right side, fighting the enemies and collecting various objects along the way. Some levels have additional layers which can be explored. There are secret locations which can be reached only if players cooperate together. The sound and music play the important role in the gameplay as they're synchronized with player's actions. Similar to New Super Mario Bros. Wii, players who die during multiplayer will turn into a balloon-like state and float around until popped by another player. However, one player must remain alive in order to progress, and the feature is unavailable in single player mode.

Rayman Origins

GeForce GTX 1060

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1060 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 3 year old GeForce GTX 1060 while playing Rayman Origins we quickly see it can get a very strong 200+ FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920x1080 res when running High graphics.

As this is a relatively powerful GPU, especially when comparing it to Rayman Origins rec requirements, it would make more sense if you pushed it up to 1440p or 4K, where even at Ultra 4K graphics settings the GeForce GTX 1060 will still get a solid 200+ FPS.

With a system housing a graphics card like the GeForce GTX 1060 and some 2GB RAM, we will see a strong 4K Ultra result in Rayman Origins. Look for a processor like the Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz CPU to go with this setup and Ultra is a sure thing.

To summarise, GeForce GTX 1060 graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what Rayman Origins screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 200+ FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 200+ FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 200+ FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $0.31 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $0.40 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $0.68 per frame.
