Alvin and the Chipmunks packshot image
Alvin and the Chipmunks is a video game based on the film of the same name. The game was released on December 4, 2007 and was the first release by video game company Brash Entertainment. It follows The Chipmunks as they play their way from small venues (such as a high school prom or a civic center) to massive crowds at Burning Munk and ultimately Rockathonapalooza. The soundtrack features 40 popular songs, including "All the Small Things" by Blink-182, "It's Tricky" by Run-D.M.C., and "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis Presley. The gameplay itself is similar to other rhythm games such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Jason Lee reprise his role as David Seville in the story cutscenes while Ross Bagdasarian Jr. and Janice Karman reprise their roles from the 1980s-2000's cartoons.

Alvin and the Chipmunks

GeForce GTX 1060

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1060 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old GeForce GTX 1060 while playing Alvin and the Chipmunks we quickly see it can get a very strong 200+ FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920x1080 res when running High graphics.

As this is a relatively powerful GPU, especially when comparing it to Alvin and the Chipmunks rec requirements, it would make more sense if you pushed it up to 1440p or 4K, where even at Ultra 4K graphics settings the GeForce GTX 1060 will still get a solid 200+ FPS.

With a system housing a graphics card like the GeForce GTX 1060 and some 0.256GB RAM, we will see a strong 4K Ultra result in Alvin and the Chipmunks. Look for a processor like the Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz CPU to go with this setup and Ultra is a sure thing.

To summarise, GeForce GTX 1060 graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what Alvin and the Chipmunks screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 200+ FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 200+ FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 200+ FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $0.05 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $0.07 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $0.11 per frame.
