Trade Empires packshot image
Trade Empires is a PC game developed by Frog City Software in San Francisco and published by Eidos Interactive. During development its working title was The Silk Road; however, this was changed by Eidos Interactive as they were concerned about the title being too highbrow. Trade Empires is a pausable real-time strategy game about building a merchant empire. Gamers build vast transport and trade networks that change over thousands of years as new technologies are developed and more modern products are discovered. The rules of the game are simple; the variety comes in through the discovery of new products to trade and new ways to transport those products.

Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB Performance Review

The experience of playing Trade Empires through a 4 year old Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB is going to return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Those frames are achieved on Trade Empires when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

Playing Trade Empires on Ultra 4k is certainly possible with this graphics card and we expect it will return around 200+ frames per second at that top scale resolution.

Finding a PC with this gpu or better would return some strong FPS in Trade Empires. We would definitely recommend running at 4K screen res and on ultra, before trying any lower screen resolution. You would also need at least 0.064GB of RAM. Perhaps couple this gaming PC with a processor that's as powerful as the AMD Ryzen R5 1600X and Ultra 4K would be a smooth experience.

To summarise, we are in the realms of who gives a crap, when looking at game hardware demands, because the Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB card will play Trade Empires at Ultra settings almost regardless of the screen resolutions. 4K Ultra will get 200+ frame rate, 1440p can deliver 200+ FPS, and the lower resolution of 1080p comes in at 200+ frames per second. For interest the cost per frame rate would look like this - 1080p Ultra costs $0.01, 1440p costs $0.02 and 4K costs $0.03.
