Dakar 18 packshot image
Dakar 18 features an array of cross-country vehicles to race in split across five categories - cars, bikes, trucks, quads, and SxS (off-road buggies). There’ll be offline modes to practice your skills, but the majority of the focus seems to be on large-scale multiplayer racing. Dakar 18 promises to be the most authentic recreation of the 10,000km race yet.

GeForce GTX 1060

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1060 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old GeForce GTX 1060 while playing Dakar 18 we quickly see it can return a reliable 70 FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920x1080 res when running High graphics.

At 1440p this graphics card will cost $6.55 for each of the 38 frames it can get on Ultra. But it will be a solid gaming experience.

To summarise, Dakar 18 works very well with a GeForce GTX 1060. While it can comfortably perform at 1080p we know it is best served at 1440p resolutions and could possibly go up to 4K with some settings adjustments. Are you after bigger resolution with lower graphics quality or higher graphics quality and smaller res? Because here are a few figures that could help you choose your optimum Low Vs Ultra. 1080p Ultra setting: 50 FPS, 1440p Medium setting: 79 FPS, 1440p High setting: 53 FPS, 1440p Ultra setting: 38 FPS.
