Low Vs Ultra GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q Performance Review
The experience of playing Apex Legends through a 3 year old GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q is going to return a consistently high 107 frame rate. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.
And so following those results you could of course play this at 1080p, but this GPU is somewhat wasted at that resolution. We would suggest running Apex Legends at 4K Ultra instead, where the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q would still get 35 FPS at these performance hungry settings and resolution.
This GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU would be best placed to run Apex Legends at 1080p Ultra. Be sure to add the required 8GB system memory as well though and a Intel Core i7-9750H 6-Core 2.6GHz processor or better .
To summarise, we are in the realms of who gives a crap, when looking at game hardware demands, because the GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q card will play Apex Legends at Ultra settings almost regardless of the screen resolutions. 4K Ultra will get 35 frame rate, 1440p can deliver 58 FPS, and the lower resolution of 1080p comes in at 77 frames per second.
