Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB Performance Review
Booting up Apex Legends with the 2 year old Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB looks like it will return a reliable 88 FPS. Those frames are achieved on Apex Legends when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.
The 48 FPS on 1440p ultra setting seems to be a very good choice for running this game with this GPU. But it can also be pushed up to 4K, should you wish, where it can get 40FPS on High 4K or drop it to Medium 4K to get 59 FPS. For the 4K High setting it would cost $4.22 per FPS, or drop to $2.86 for each frame on Medium 4K.
This Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB GPU would be best placed to run Apex Legends at 1080p Ultra. Be sure to add the required 8GB system memory as well though and a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor or better .
In summary, we feel that the Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB looks and performs great on 1440p resolution. So if you want a 1440p Apex Legends experience it will generate 126 FPS on Low 1440p graphics setting, 99 FPS when on Medium 1440p, 67 FPS when played at High settings and down to 48 FPS when turned up to Ultra on 1440p. You might still be looking for 1080p though to get some higher smoother FPS, where you could get 63 FPS at Ultra 1080p resolution. So something to think about.
