Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB Performance Review

Booting up Close to the Sun with the 1 year old Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB looks like it will get a very strong 90 FPS. Those frames are achieved on Close to the Sun when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

The 49 FPS on 1440p ultra setting seems to be a very good choice for running this game with this GPU. But it can also be pushed up to 4K, should you wish, where it can get 41FPS on High 4K or drop it to Medium 4K to get 61 FPS. For the 4K High setting it would cost $4.12 per FPS, or drop to $2.77 for each frame on Medium 4K.

In summary, we feel that the Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB looks and performs great on 1440p resolution. So if you want a 1440p Close to the Sun experience it will generate 129 FPS on Low 1440p graphics setting, 102 FPS when on Medium 1440p, 68 FPS when played at High settings and down to 49 FPS when turned up to Ultra on 1440p. You might still be looking for 1080p though to get some higher smoother FPS, where you could get 64 FPS at Ultra 1080p resolution. So something to think about.
