Phantasmagoria packshot image
Phantasmagoria is an interactive movie point-and-click adventure game created by Sierra On-line for the PC, and later for the Sega Saturn in Japan. The game was released in 1995 and was followed by a sequel, Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh in 1996.

Made during the height of the "interactive movie" boom in the computer game industry, Phantasmagoria is notable for being the first game to use a live actor (Victoria Morsell) as an on-screen avatar. The game was released on seven CDs to accommodate the massive amount of video generated by this process, the creation of which was contracted by Sierra to Kronos Digital Entertainment (who had previously worked on Sierra's King's Quest VI). Large portions of data were repeated on each CD, to avoid in-game disc swapping.

GeForce GTX 1060

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1060 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old GeForce GTX 1060 while playing Phantasmagoria we quickly see it can get a very strong 140 FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920x1080 res when running High graphics.

As this is a relatively powerful GPU, especially when comparing it to Phantasmagoria rec requirements, it would make more sense if you pushed it up to 1440p or 4K, where even at Ultra 4K graphics settings the GeForce GTX 1060 will still get a solid 45 FPS.

To summarise, GeForce GTX 1060 graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what Phantasmagoria screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 45 FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 76 FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 100 FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $2.49 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $3.28 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $5.53 per frame.
