In the year 2009, old hostilities between Eritrea and Ethiopia have resurfaced. Colonel Tesfaye Wolde of the Ethiopian military had participated in illegal arms trades with Russian ultra-nationalists. Sparing no time at all, and with a newly refurbished arsenal, Col. Wolde seized the opportunity to reclaim Eritrea (which won independence in 1993). The situation garnered international interest when the conflict threatened the shipping lanes in the Red Sea. In response to a plea from the Eritrean government for international support, the Ghosts have been mobilized to stop Col. Wolde from advancing any further.

Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Desert Siege

GeForce GTX 1060

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1060 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old GeForce GTX 1060 while playing Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Desert Siege we quickly see it can get a very strong 140 FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920x1080 res when running High graphics.

As this is a relatively powerful GPU, especially when comparing it to Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Desert Siege rec requirements, it would make more sense if you pushed it up to 1440p or 4K, where even at Ultra 4K graphics settings the GeForce GTX 1060 will still get a solid 45 FPS.

To summarise, GeForce GTX 1060 graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Desert Siege screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 45 FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 76 FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 100 FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $2.49 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $3.28 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $5.53 per frame.
