World War III: Black Gold packshot image
“World War III: Black Gold” is an RTS game in full 3D, set in the modern world, and allowing the player to choose any of the three sides of the battlefield – USA, Russia or Iraq. The countries use any way and weapon that are at their disposal to fight for the sought after “black gold” - that is, fighting for oil. Each side has its unique combat strategy and weaponry (e.g. chemical weapons, suicide squads, stealth technologies...), their warfare is divided into categories: anti-air weaponry, anti-tank weaponry, chemical weaponry, EMP weaponry and weapons of mass destruction.

World War III: Black Gold

Radeon RX 590 8GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 590 8GB Performance Review

We can see that when playing World War III: Black Gold with a Radeon RX 590 8GB will return a consistently high 140 frame rate. Which is at High settings on 1080p performance.

And so following those results you could of course play this at 1080p, but this GPU is somewhat wasted at that resolution. We would suggest running World War III: Black Gold at 4K Ultra instead, where the Radeon RX 590 8GB would still get 45 FPS at these performance hungry settings and resolution. When considering the GPUs release price, this comes in at $6.20 per Ultra 4K FPS or $3.67 at 1440p Ultra.

In summary, Ultra graphics setting is highly achievable with this Radeon RX 590 8GB card, but what monitor resolution are you looking to play World War III: Black Gold at, because you can get 45 FPS at Ultra 4K. But perhaps you feel better served at 1440p, where you would get 76 frames per second on Ultra 1440p. Lower the resolution further and you get a blistering 100 FPS at 1080p Ultra.
