Star Trek DAC is the next Star Trek game based on the 2009 Star Trek prequel. The developer is Naked Sky Entertainment, of RoboBlitz fame, in collaboration with Bad Robot Productions which is currently producing the movie.
Star Trek: D-A-C allows fans to directly control a variety of ships and pitch battles between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire. Up to 12 players can compete in thrilling team combat. There are three game play modes - single player, online multiplayer and online co-op. For each mode, there are three different game types - Team DeathMatch, Assault and Conquest. Players can choose from three ship types for each faction, including the new U.S.S. Enterprise featured in the "Star Trek" film. Each ship – the powerful Flagship, the nimble Fighter and the devastating Bomber – offers its own unique capabilities for players to master and manipulate as they fight for victory. In addition to featuring the new U.S.S. Enterprise, Star Trek: D-A-C incorporates music and signature sounds taken directly from the new "Star Trek" film.

Star Trek DAC

GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Performance Review

Getting the Star Trek DAC running while using a GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB can see it could get a very strong 200+ FPS. Those frames are achieved on Star Trek DAC when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

When looking at the recommended requirements for Star Trek DAC we can see that this GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is far better served running it on Ultra even at 4K, where it would achieve 200+FPS. But it could cost around $0.51 per FPS at 4K. Compare this to Ultra 1440p, which is a more reasonable $0.31 per FPS.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB along with the right system memory, 2GB, is very capable of getting top FPS results even at 4K Ultra graphics settings. We would recommend 4K as the way to go here. Especially if you have a Intel Core i7-4790K 4-Core 4.0GHz processor or better.

In summary, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is clearly an overpowered bit of hardware for Star Trek DAC, but it certainly gives you the choice of desired in game visuals. With 1080p Ultra coming in at 200+ FPS, then you have 1440p Ultra with 200+ frames per second and on up to 4K resolution Ultra will see 200+ FPS.
