Star Trek Armada packshot image
After a climactic battle over the Klingon homeworld, Toral is defeated. He retreats to the Neutral Zone, revealing that he was getting assistance from the Romulan Star Empire. Hostilities ensue between the Klingons and the Romulans.
The Romulans, in the meantime, come across a stable Omega Particle, a source of nearly limitless power. The particle, discovered first by a Ferengi mining guild, is about to be sold to the Cardassians; the Tal Shiar sends Admiral Sela to secure it before that happens. Sela captures the Omega Particle and, despite some Borg interference, delivers it to a fortified Romulan base. She then allies with the Borg promising the particle after they destroy Toral's remaining forces, but she then betrays and attacks them after Toral is defeated.

Star Trek Armada

Radeon RX 480X 4GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 480X 4GB Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 5 year old Radeon RX 480X 4GB while playing Star Trek Armada we quickly see it can return a consistently high 140 frame rate. And those results are assuming a 1920x1080 screen resolution at High setting level.

With such a strong 1080p performance the Radeon RX 480X 4GB overshadows the Star Trek Armada recommended specs. Push things up to Ultra 4K and we still get 45 frames per sec. Using the graphics card release price, this is a $10.00 cost per FPS and a $5.92 per FPS at 1440p Ultra.

To summarise, Radeon RX 480X 4GB graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what Star Trek Armada screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 45 FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 76 FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 100 FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $4.50 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $5.92 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $10.00 per frame.
