State Of Decay packshot image
Unlike games such as Left 4 Dead, State of Decay will focus more on survival. Stealth, evasion, distractions, securing the player's resources, and moving through the world will be more emphasized than zombie combat. The game will be open world, where the player's choices will be an important factor. Players will be able to build structures such as sniper towers and barricades to defend against the infected population. Food, water, shelter, ammo, and supplies such as copper wire will be necessary for survival. To obtain these supplies, the player will need to go on raids to abandoned supermarkets and many other shops, or the player can grow food themselves. The player will also be able to rescue other NPC survivors, such as electricians, to help with defense, repair damaged electronics in the player's base, or to help with the player's raiding parties. However, the player will also be able to be a lone wolf, moving from building to building trying to survive.

State Of Decay

GeForce GTX 970 4GB

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 970 4GB Performance Review

Booting up State Of Decay with the 7 year old GeForce GTX 970 4GB looks like it will get a very strong 200+ FPS. And those results are assuming a 1920x1080 screen resolution at High setting level.

When looking at the recommended requirements for State Of Decay we can see that this GeForce GTX 970 4GB is far better served running it on Ultra even at 4K, where it would achieve 117FPS. But it could cost around $2.82 per FPS at 4K. Compare this to Ultra 1440p, which is a more reasonable $1.68 per FPS.

The GeForce GTX 970 4GB along with the right system memory, 4GB, is very capable of getting top FPS results even at 4K Ultra graphics settings. We would recommend 4K as the way to go here. Especially if you have a Intel Core i7-4770K 4-Core 3.5GHz processor or better.

To summarise, this is an easy one, the GeForce GTX 970 4GB solution can play State Of Decay at Ultra settings despite the desired screen resolution (up to 4K) you want to play it on. 4K Ultra gets 117 frame rate, whereby we see 196 frame rate for the 1440p Ultra and if you wish to look at 1080p gaming then 200+ frames per second is the type of results. Using the graphics card launch price we calculate the cost per frame to look like this for the different resolutions - 1080p Ultra costs $1.28, 1440p costs $1.68 and 4K costs $2.82.
