State Of Decay packshot image
Unlike games such as Left 4 Dead, State of Decay will focus more on survival. Stealth, evasion, distractions, securing the player's resources, and moving through the world will be more emphasized than zombie combat. The game will be open world, where the player's choices will be an important factor. Players will be able to build structures such as sniper towers and barricades to defend against the infected population. Food, water, shelter, ammo, and supplies such as copper wire will be necessary for survival. To obtain these supplies, the player will need to go on raids to abandoned supermarkets and many other shops, or the player can grow food themselves. The player will also be able to rescue other NPC survivors, such as electricians, to help with defense, repair damaged electronics in the player's base, or to help with the player's raiding parties. However, the player will also be able to be a lone wolf, moving from building to building trying to survive.

State Of Decay

Radeon RX 550 4GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 550 4GB Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old Radeon RX 550 4GB while playing State Of Decay we quickly see it can return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.

Following on from those 1920x1080 screen FPS, we know this GPU is of a much higher performance than the recommended system specs. Even 4K Ultra returns 98 FPS on State Of Decay. But it’s still worth considering the $0.81 per Ultra 4K FPS you would get compared to the $0.48 at 1440p Ultra.

This is a powerful graphics card for State Of Decay and we can certainly recommend it to deliver 4K screen res at ultra settings. Get a system with at least 4GB of RAM though. The PC’s processor would also want to be around the AMD Ryzen R3 1200X’s performance to get a smooth experience.

To summarise, Radeon RX 550 4GB graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what State Of Decay screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 98 FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 165 FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 200+ FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $0.36 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $0.48 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $0.81 per frame.
