InFamous: Second Son packshot image
Delsin Rowe is the star of Second Son, and you probably know someone like him: A 24 year-old who is absolutely convinced he’s destined for greatness; though so far that greatness has managed to elude him. He grew up just outside Seattle, Washington, where his great – if accidental – calling comes crashing into his life. After rescuing occupants from a fiery bus wreck, he discovers that he suddenly has the ability to direct, manipulate and even transform into… Smoke. Could he have absorbed this power from one of the teenagers he pulled from the wreckage?
Setting the scene: It’s been 7 years since the Cole MacGrath episodes and the world has clearly changed. Anyone showing signs of being a so-called “bio-terrorist” is immediately handed over to the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) — a government agency created to ensure there is never a repeat of the catastrophic events of Empire City and New Marais.

InFamous: Second Son

Radeon RX 570 4GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 570 4GB Performance Review

Getting the InFamous: Second Son running while using a Radeon RX 570 4GB can see it could return a consistently high 140 frame rate. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.

And so following those results you could of course play this at 1080p, but this GPU is somewhat wasted at that resolution. We would suggest running InFamous: Second Son at 4K Ultra instead, where the Radeon RX 570 4GB would still get 45 FPS at these performance hungry settings and resolution. When considering the GPUs release price, this comes in at $3.76 per Ultra 4K FPS or $2.22 at 1440p Ultra.

In summary, the Radeon RX 570 4GB is clearly an overpowered bit of hardware for InFamous: Second Son, but it certainly gives you the choice of desired in game visuals. With 1080p Ultra coming in at 100 FPS, then you have 1440p Ultra with 76 frames per second and on up to 4K resolution Ultra will see 45 FPS.
