It doesn't really make a difference what MOBO you have for a GPU (unless you have a very old MOBO with only PCIe 1).If am not mistaken the r9 280X is faster than 380 so I it is a better choice IMO.

Hey guys, im planning to swap my mobos from a gigabyte 78lmt-s2p to this mobo. Would I have to format hy hdd and do a clean wins 7 install or is it just a quick swap? The reason i ask this is because my old mobo has a 960G chipset, whereas this has a 970. Thanks!
